Lee and Yude are planning the exhibition site layout now. They will need to know the size of your mock ups so that they can plan where and how to place them. According to size, some prototypes will be placed on pedestals, others on platforms.

Therefore we need some information about your mock ups and prototypes. Please inform us on the overall size of your mock ups by Monday, Feb 2nd. Priority will be given to those who reply by the deadline.

Grad Book Preparations & Deadline‏

Hey mates,

It's getting nearer to the big thing. Every single detail is piling up and all of us need to help out in order for the event to work. Hoping that everyone cooperates to finish the grad book asap so we can sent them to the printers. =)

F.Y.I : 1.5 months is needed for the printing + QC

There's a whole bunch of dates we need to fill in with you guys (what's going to happen). It's probably gonna make you all lift the computer mouse and bang your head, but well, it's the cold hard fact that it's happening this fast.

Ongoing - Consolidation of personal web pages

19 Jan 09 (Monday)
1. The Creative Team would finalize ideas on the grad book's outlook and pages and everything that has to go with it.

2. CNY Fund raising (liping) - Do help her out.

*Do start thinking what 2 products you want to appear in the Grad book, Start preparing already, requirements are almost equivalent to what you handed in for the web. If possible, discuss it with your supervisor as well.
Get the images ready in high quality. We don't want the 'pixel eyesore' to happen, unless you want to for you own page. It's your page on hundreds of books. Think about it.

20 Jan 09 (Tuesday)

1. The Creative team would be drafting out individual page layouts / the whole book. (attached file on The Creative Team roles and responsibilities)

2. CNY Fund raising (liping) - Do help her out.

21 Jan 09 (Wednesday)

1. As voiced out by Michael Gan. EVERYONE should hopefully be in school to 'show face' or help out with other teams (video team led by Fal needs things to be worked out asap too)

2. The Creative Team will be proposing the finalize ideas for the grad book to Michael Gan and everyone who should be present, there will be other announcements for other areas like exhibition layout and everything you need to know for Unit 09.
(It is also a good session where you all could give feedback and getting yourself involved if you feel you are being assigned to do nothing.)

22 Jan 09 (Thursday)

1. Consultation on your Grad book page.
Consolidation of the 2 chosen product images for each student (final) at 6 stations.

Time slots would be given to everyone to fulfill (see below), if you are impossible to make it at the time given, please at least still get to school by 4pm after having valid reasons on not making the time slot. (Not coming down loosely means, 'I don't bother being in the Grad book'. It is your responsibility.)
The earlier you are done with it, one less stone in the bucket. Put first things first. Ain't that a good thing? =)

Rendering submission‏

ello everyone.

Please make sure you are finalizing your renderings. Submission is this Friday, 16th of January. Please submit it into Fiona's desktop computer. There will be a folder on the desktop where you will leave it.

Submission documents should include:
1x Product Rendering for PRODUCT A
1x Product concept/ rationale/ write up (+-100 words) for PRODUCT A

1x Product Rendering for PRODUCT B
1x Product concept/ rationale/ write up (+-100 words) for PRODUCT B

There should be 4 files in total. 2 JPEGS & 2 word doc.

After submission, Mr Eason and co. will be reviewing & quality check-ing all the work. After which, it will be handed to both Siti Zara for website designing/ uploading & it will be given to the lecturers(overseeing the prototypes) to choose feasible products for prototyping sponsored by the school.

three dates for submission

Dear All,

We have set out three dates for submission mainly for Unit Grad Book , Guest invitation card as well as Sponsorship letters .

Unit Grad Book - we have split up the book into section of covers and back, Inserts, Student work, Content Page and MISC. Each Sections to be coming up with 2 final drafts of the layout, colour codes, designs with explaination. This will be revised on the following meeting. We have also taken into consideration of previous submissions of the grad book sections and will be revised and used in the grad book. So many thanks for the hard work of everyone . Thus the deadline for the sections submission to be in by Wednesday 28th JAN 1 PM

Guest Invitation - Lin Liang we will need the 2 final drafts of the invitation card. Editable format preferred. By Monday 19th Jan 1 PM.

Sponsorship Letters - Denise and Kohmei we will need the sponsorship letter to be drafted ASAP , any materials you will need from the class , just reply to this email wih the request and thus will be forwarded to respective individuals or class. Deadline to be in by Tuesday 20th Jan 1 PM.

We urged everyone to post a reply to the blog at www.unit2009.blogspot.com on the tagboard on the acknowlegement of this email. IF anyone has any question you wish to ask about e.g. UNIT THEME, ROLES, DEADLINES please reply to this email. We will send out sms to everyone who is concerned in this email. So there will be no room for inactivity of individuals and excuse.

We look forward to everyone's submission by the dates stated. Attachment for your reference is the different roles for the UNIT TEAM

Photo taking session

Hello everyone.

There will be a photo taking session next week, 11th of December 2008, Thursday. It will start at 1000hrs. This is for the UNIT2009 publicity.

Please dress as followed, TOP: WHITE SHIRT/ T-SHIRT (any collar) etc. BOTTOM: YOUR CHOICE. Please make personal arrangements for your haircut/ make up yeap?

Photo taking equipment, lighting and props will be brought to the studio R.622. So entire session will be held here, in the studio.

Attendance is mandatory as we do not have other slots for another photo taking sessions. It'll be quite weird if we don't have a photo of yourself in the book/brochure/website.

At the end of the session, you will be able to save a copy of a picture, so that you can use it for future uses such as your resume, portfolio, facebook, personal use, etc. .

Theme : Dots

Hello,

We've proposed the themes to the director and one had been choosen.
The theme is non other than DOTS.

CONCEPT: DOTS
dots can signify a unit of measurement.
As well as the idea of “beginning and end”.
Take a pen, put the tip to your paper and lift it up. what will you see?
a dot. This is our beginning.
Look at the end of this sentence. And this one. This one too. All dots.

Using this idea for unit, all of us have to come together to make up one whole.
And our grad show may be the end of this chapter but the beginning of
another for us.

Hey Final Year Dudes and Dudettes, this marks the beginning of the end. Yeap! So unreal but so true.

Well, as you can see.. This is really raw. That's why we need to come together as one UNIT, to complete this task. What is the task? Organise and execute our graduation show. This is OUR show, not the lecturer's. 1 of the many tasks is to create a theme and fill in that space(header) above.

There is 1 rule here, that is to have fun, because this is your grad show. In the following days/weeks, we will begin updating you on important stuffs. Don't worry, none of you will be left out of this. Committees will be setup, ICs will be elected, job scopes to be briefed. We're all in this together!

Let the show begin!
